An oil painting was commissioned in 1986 as the basis of a limited edition of 300 prints to mark the 25th anniversary of the Class. About 100 of the prints have recently been tracked down and will be offered for sale, unframed, to members of the Class at £55 for one, £50 each for two or more, including p&p. The stock/material on which the print is printed (shiny card) is 71x52cm, the printed area (the actual picture) is 57x37cm. Boats for sale or partnership
Finesse, No 6. Quarter share available. Always at the top of the fleet this past year, well maintained. Please contact David Christie.
Deinos, No 17. For sale as two, one third shares or whole boat. Please contact Chris Murray-Wicks.
Dido, No 19. This Daring is now available for purchase or to be in a new racing syndicate. The boat is in good order and has renewed its sails on schedule. In 2009 season she held a front of the fleet position setting a handful of guns. Please contact the owner at 020 3102 3437 if you wish to explore possibilities. The present owner has had the boat over a long period and seeks to retire from racing.
Dionysus, No. 26. For sale. She is in excellent condition, perhaps one of the best maintained Darings in the fleet. Classic colours: dark blue with deep red below the waterline. She is a proven fast boat, having been Cowes Week winner for four years. Owners are keen to place her in the hands of an active owner or syndicate. Contact Adam de Courcy Ling (020 7290 8110 or adecourcyling@armapartners.com) or Bruce Huber (020 7029 8020 or bhuber@jefferies.com).
Double Knot, No 27, is an excellent opportunity to take either an equity share or a share in expenses. For further details, please contact John Hackman on 020 7930 7797.
Damsel, No 28, is now fully legal and back in class following the latest AGM. She is in very good condition with new mast and boom and the owners would like to find one or two new partners. They will consider equity partnerships or shared expenses-only arrangements. Contact Jamie Scrimgeour on 07713 073173 or email Jamie Scrimgeour.
