Colonial Cup Monday 22 to Thursday 25 July
This regular event is steeped in tradition and is conducted by the Daring Class Association, this year we have chosen the Royal London Yacht Club to host The Colonial Cup. In 2012 it was hosted by The Royal Perth Yacht Club on the Swan River in Perth, Australia.
The Colonial Cup is a team racing event and this year we will be using the Royal Yacht Squadron's fleet of J 80's, the Cup will be contested over the three days with up to 8 races per day.
The Royal Perth Yacht Club is the current holder of the Colonial Cup, and as they are sending a team from Perth to compete we are sure their title is going to be hotly defended.
The format for this year's regatta is three boat teams of four crew on each boat (including helm), which means we need at least 12. You don't necessarily need Teams Racing (or Match Racing) experience, just your current racing/sailing experience and a willingness to get involved. If you are interested in taking part please contact Doug Harckham.
The schedule of events at the Colonial Cup is as follows:
• Monday 22nd July – Registration, Opening Ceremony and Welcome Supper at Royal London Yacht Club, Cowes.
• Tuesday 23rd July dinner/BBQ RYC
• Wednesday 24th July dinner/BBQ RCYC
• Thursday 25th July dinner RLYC
