Regatta Report - Bermuda International Invitational Race Week 2026
The Darings in Cowes sadly do not have an international class association, but share much in common with a class known as the "International One Design". The IOD is a design from 1936 which is loosely-based and scaled down from a "6 metre" yacht from Bermuda named "Saga". The Daring, of course, is a later design closely based on "5.5 metre" designs from the 1956 Olympics. Race Report - 9-10 May
This weekend's race report comes from Dynamite and Defender, courtesy of David Tydeman and Perdy Light respectively. This weekend was part of the CCCA season, with today run by the Royal London and featuring Committee Boat starts for Etchells, Darings and Dragons. Race Report - 2-3 May
This weekend's race report comes from Dynamite, courtesy of Charles Mathews and David Tydeman. With the forecast showing the first rain for weeks, and at times modest winds, the Race Committee from Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club were monitoring conditions closely in the lead-up to the first weekend of the season. In the end, all racing took place as planned with Destroyer and Diamond making an early impression on the results. A very promising 11 boats turned out for the racing over the weekend....
